About Us
Travel has always been a huge part of our family. In the 1960s and 70s, my aunts and uncles traveled the world every year. The start of their annual journeys was always a big family event. I was young then, and we would all get dressed up and head to the airport to see them off. Going to the airport was an adventure in itself—everyone was filled with excitement about the journey that awaited them. Some trips lasted a month, others a year or even longer. Their adventures were sometimes for work, and other times purely for the joy of experiencing life.
My aunts and uncles were truly special and unique. One was a diplomat who worked in embassies all over the world. Another volunteered with Greenpeace. One studied art while living in a convent in Paris. And then there was my uncle, who always showed up at Christmas. We never knew where he had been that year—only that the holidays began the moment he arrived.
When each family member returned, they brought back trinkets and souvenirs from far-off, exotic places. But best of all, they brought their stories. During family feasts, my aunts and uncles would share their legendary fables of travel, and we would sit for hours listening in awe. These Fabled Travels were inspiring to me and my siblings—we couldn’t wait to have adventures of our own to share. We wanted to become The Fabled Travellers, just like them.
This blog was created in that spirit: to share our travels, to carry on the tradition, and to inspire you to become a Fabled Traveller too.

The Fabled Traveller
I’ve always traveled to step beyond the edges of my own life, to taste the bread of another land, hear its music, stand beneath its ancient stones, and come home richer, carrying a little of the world’s wonder in my heart. I created The Fabled Travellers to pass that wonder on, sharing my stories and everything I’ve learned along the way, in hopes of inspiring a new generation of Fabled Travellers to pack their bags and write stories of their own.

I’m a retired educator who supported children with special needs and their families, and now I’m out exploring the world, wandering ancient streets and learning from every culture I meet. By blending that experience with my adventures, I hope to help every family, whatever their needs, discover the world is wide open to them too.
Claire
I’m a college student in San Francisco traveling on a student’s wallet. Studying abroad in Greece, I fell in love with its culture and lively nightlife and learned the best way to experience a place is to live it like a local, so I’m sharing my budget tips, hidden finds, and favorite cheap eats to help fellow students pack up and start exploring too.
Brice
I’m a San Diego State student who believes the best adventures happen with friends. We’ve mastered stretching every dollar, and I hope to share my tricks so you and your crew can see more of the world for less.

I’m a young entrepreneur who loves building something out of nothing, whether it’s a business or the perfect trip. When I’m not creating, you’ll find me on the golf course or exploring the world with my three brothers, always on the lookout for the next great idea, destination, or round worth remembering.

I’m a chemical engineer turned web developer and graphic designer from the Philippines. I’m a very outdoorsy kind of person and I like to travel places and discover new cuisines. I love to hike, join running events, taking photos and visit museums. When indoors, I love making coffee, reading books, or spend most of my time sketching on my iPad.
